When most people think of RV adventures, they imagine relaxation, scenic views, and the freedom to just unplug. Well, not for me—at least not entirely. Working remotely from an RV is both a blessing and a curse. It gives you the flexibility to travel, but at the same time, you’re glued to your laptop while the world passes by outside your window.
In my case, I set up my mobile office in the passenger seat, laptop in hand, connected via Starlink. Unlike traditional hotspots, which can be hit or miss in remote areas, Starlink provided solid, high-speed internet. Whether I was checking emails or hopping on Zoom calls, I had reliable internet (most of the time).
But even with a good internet connection, comfort is key. A few days into the trip, I realized my makeshift lap desk wasn’t cutting it, so I picked up a portable laptop desk from Amazon. It’s lightweight, adjustable, and perfect for working in the RV or setting up at a campsite. It was a small investment, but a big boost to my daily work comfort. And honestly, thank goodness for my Bose noise-canceling headphones. Whether it was the constant hum of the RV’s engine or campground noises in the background, these headphones were my saving grace. They helped me block out distractions and focus on work, even when the surroundings were far from quiet.
